Dr. J,   I had labrum repair about 10 years ago and climbed relatively pain free until just recently.  Another scope confirms that I now have very little cartilage left in my shoulder and when I get tired of the pain, shoulder replacement is my only option.   I recently heard that Tom Hornbein had a shoulder replacement and continued to climb after about a year.  I plan on avoiding the surgery as long as possible, perhaps even until cartilage replacement becomes a reality.  Any  thoughts?
