Boxer fracture and finger alignment

Hello, I have recently fractured the 4th metacarpal bone in my left hand in a fall. X-rays show a angulation of ~15 deg. And there is no rotation. The finger above the break is now recessed towards my palm out of the plane of the other fingers by ~ 20%. I have been told that it will heal up fine but that without surgery that alignment will not change. It is a spiral fracture so I'm also told it will readily accept two pins and that would bring the finger back up. I would like to avoid surgery but I'm concerned that my finger will now be more prone to injury (I've already had pulley issues there). Would a moderately misaligned finger have a impact on my climbing. Thanks for any and all advice!
