David Lama, Hansjörg Auer and Alex Blümel attempt the unclimbed Southeast Ridge of Annapurna III (7,555 meters) in the Himalayas of Nepal.
The team attempted the line in spring 2016. After three days, they reach the 1981 high point made by British alpinists Nick Colten and Tim Leach. They
pushed on for two more days in harsh conditions before the weather window snapped shut and they were forced to abandon the attempt. Lama, Auer and
Blümel hope to give it another shot in 2017.
This 90-second POV teaser, recorded by Lama, is part of a 12-minute documentary film, Annapurna III – Unclimbed, which premiered at the Banff
Mountain Film and Book Festival earlier this month and is now making the festival rounds.
