Dean Potter, first to solo-climb both El Cap and Half Dome in a single day, and veteran of milestone climbs in Patagonia and the Alps, has been named one of the "Adventurers of the Year" by National Geographic Adventure Magazine for his wing suit BASE jump off the Eiger.

Sender Films captured all the action for the pcoming television series "First Ascent," and put together an Adventurer of the Year video:

The video features Potter's hybrid of climbing and BASE jumping, and is part of a six-part series that travels to places like Patagonia, Alaska and Catalunya with the likes of Chris Sharma, Alex Honnold and many others -- debuting on the Nat Geo Adventure Channel in January 2010.
