11-year-old Mirko Caballero just sent Ubermensch (5.14a) in Pinnacles National Monument, California, according to his 8a.nu scorecard. Caballero described it as a "hard, short but bouldery route." The route was put up by Chris Sharma and originally rated 5.13d, but was bumped to 5.14a after several holds broke.
Caballero is coming off a solid year of 5.14a sends. Just this past November, he climbed the 5.14a Chemical Ali in Smith Rock. In August he sent Ixeia in Rodellar, Spain and in April he climbed God's Own Stone in the Red River Gorge. Caballero started climbing at age 6 and also has a background as a gymnast. He lives in Los Gatos, California.
