In just two sessions, the young German powerhouse Alex Megos sent The Wheel of Life (V15) in the Hollow Cave of Australia's Grampians. Verticallifemag.com reports that Megos' lightning quick repeat is "by a long way" the fastest ascent of the 70-move roof climb. According to the report, Megos spent his first session in the cave climbing Cave Rave (V13) three times. During his next visit to the Hollow Cave, Megos linked The Wheel of Life on his third try of the day, impressively climbing the problem's middle section--an already existing V12 called Sleepy Hollow--for his first time during the send.
At 19 years old, Alex Megos is undeniably one of the world's strongest climbers. Hailing from Erlangen, Germany, Megos burst onto the scene this past March with the world's first 5.14d onsight. Willing to explore all facets of climbing, Megos has been traveling the world and climbing everything from Spanish limestone to splitter cracks in Indian Creek, Utah. During a four month trip to the U.S., Megos managed to send over 100 routes graded 5.13b or harder--including a flash of Pure Imagination (5.14c) in the Red River Gorge, Kentucky, and a repeat of The Fly (5.14d) in Rumney, New Hampshire.
