Mammut Blaze Pro Shoe Reveiw

16-Dec-2010
By

Mammut Blaze Pro, $125

  • Steep rock: 2.5 Star
  • Face climbing: 3.5 Star
  • Long routes: 2 Star
  • Upper: Synthetic leather, lined
  • Rubber: 4mm Vibram XSV

The Blaze Pro could have been one of our favorite shoes. With a moderately stiff sole, good lacing system and snug toe box it’s a solid performer on technical face climbs. The last, however, still needs work. It’s too flat, and I never felt like my weight was entirely focused over my big toe and instep edge. The Blaze Pro is an excellent edging shoe but needs a few tweaks to be outstanding.

+ Great edging shoe.

-  Last lacks power.
