First Repeat of Jeff Lowe's Metanoia on the Eiger North Face

03-Feb-2017

In the winter of 1991 Jeff Lowe climbed a line straight up the North Face of the Eiger, alone and without bolts. Many said it was madness, most said it was visionary, everybody said it was an exceptional climb. Jeff named the route Metanoia, a Greek term which means a fundamental change of thinking, a new view of the world. The route remained an unclimbed mystery for 25 years, until December 30th, 2016, when alpinists Thomas Huber, Stephan Siegrist and Roger Schaeli repeated the line in an epic feat for its second ascent.
