Magnus Midtbø has tried Neanderthal (5.15b) over 26 times. Established by Chris Sharma in 2009, Neanderthal climbs through the center of the imposing Spanish cave of Santa Linya, and is a contender for one of the world's hardest sport routes. This past spring, Midtbø battled wet conditions while trying the route and eventually had to go home empty handed. However, he plans to return in November 2013 to try and complete the route's second ascent.
