Weekend Whipper: Can You Really Stop a Crevasse Fall?

Knowing how to safely negotiate crevassed terrain is an essential skill for any alpinist to master. In this video a group of Czech alpinists show how truly difficult it is to arrest a crevasse fall. These guys constructed a back-up anchor to test the scenario, and most times, the falling climber is only stopped when the arresting climber hits the anchor.
