Climb Safe

John Long: Slaying Giants
Cast by chance into the frenzy of a dramatic Yosemite rescue, the author confronts his youthful fears head-on.
El Cajon Climbing Crag Bolts Chopped
San Diego's premier crag, El Cajon, has been targeted by an individual bent on removing or destroying fixed anchors and bolts. According to local Chris Hubbard, who co-authored the San Diego County Climbing Guide with Dave Kennedy, the vandal has chopped 16 100-foot sport pitches at El Cajon and several routes at Mission Gorge.
The Locomotive: Roy McMurtrey – 87 and Still Climbing
Roy McMurtrey was born in the north woods of Idaho on October 18, 1928. He started climbing mountains in 1972 and summited Mount St. Helens at 9,677 feet—before it erupted. Roy is now 87 years old and he’s still going strong. This is Roy McMurtrey’s Story.

The American West, this celebrated frontier, as tame as it has become with commercialism and super highways, is still the last good place I know of for real adventure.
Grivel Mega K6g Twingate
The Grivel Twingate carabiner isn’t the first design with two gates, but it is the best.
