Climb Safe

Features

John Long: Channel Surfing
As far back as I could remember I’d wondered which of mankind’s faiths and illusions I could choose as my sustaining light, and I’d chosen the greatest existential pathology of them all: that if I worked hard enough, and smartly enough, my greatest challenges would someday flow effortlessly under my hands like glassy Malibu swells.
True Believers
The Road to a Freer, Friendlier and still adventurous Zion
Dave Graham
A storm was a'brewin.' I felt it in my trick knee well that, and I was with Dave Graham in Calgary, Canada, where it had rained for three days, which translates to no climbing. It might get ugly. Dave is a fiery ball of motivation and determination, and if he doesn't have an outlet, and fast, there's gonna be trouble.
An Encounter with Fred
Joe Josephson phoned with an interesting proposal: Fred Beckey had come to town for a reunion of Montana's Dirty Sox Club, a guild of Montana climbers from the 1960s through the 1980s.

If anyone has earned an honorary membership in a group named Dirty Sox it is Washington's Fred Beckey, sovereign of American DirtBag Climbers.
Black Diamond Butler Pad Review
The Butler is an inch-thick pad that zips up like a gun case. Store all your gear in it for a day of sport climbing or bouldering, and wear it as a pack, or stuff it inside a full-sized crash pad.
