Every year Rock and Ice recognizes new climbing gear that is inventive, a good value and among the best products in their class by awarding them a Best In Gear (B.I.G.) award. “Throughout the year, the Rock and Ice crew rigorously tests products in the field to find exceptional products to recommend to our readers,” says editor Jeff Jackson. “Most of the equipment that we test is good, so culling down to six is a challenge. Still, after a year of searching and field testing, we found gear that isn’t just great, but also reflects the creativity and drive behind the climbing industry. Earning a B.I.G. award isn’t easy or automatic, and we are pleased to announce the winners.”
