Over 60 ice climbers representing 12 countries competed in the 2016 UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championship in Rabenstein, Italy, February
5 to 7.

Russia dominated. Across three age groups, for men and women, and two events—lead and speed climbing—Russians claimed 29 out of 36 podium places.
In speed climbing, they landed every podium spot.

Justin Willis, from Bozeman, Montana, was the only climber from the United States who competed. He took third place in the U22 Men’s Lead competition.
