Nalle Hukkataival has made the first ascent of Good Hope (V13) at Rocklands, South Africa.

“One of the best boulders I’ve ever climbed!” Hukkataival posted on his Instagram. “It’s lines like this that make the relentless search for new climbs worth the effort.”

The Finnish climber adds Good Hope to his strong list of first ascents, which includes Road Sweet Home (V15) in the Grampians of Australia just a month ago.

Hukkataival, 28, is one of a few climbers to flash V13, and has flashed more V12s and harder than anyone else. In 2009 Hukkataival also made the first ascent of Livin’ Large (V15), an unrepeated highball at Rocklands.

Hukkataival first gained wider attention when he climbed Fred Nicole’s Dreamtime (V15) at 18. He then began traveling around the world and now holds first ascents in Africa, Asia, Europe, America and Australia, according to his website.
