“DONE DEAL,” posted Caballero on Intagram. “Still can’t believe it… Meadowlark Lemon sit V14 (8B+) !!!! I never worked sooo hard for a project.”

Cabellero had already climbed the problem via the stand-start at V13, but needed an additional three trips to complete the problem from the sit-start.

Meadowlark Lemon was first climbed by Paul Robinson in January 2012 and graded V15. However, after quick repeats by Daniel Woods and Jimmy Webb in December 2013, the consensus is now V14.

Mirko Caballero is a three time youth national bouldering champion and has been climbing seriously since the age of seven. At the young age of nine, Caballero climbed his first V10. Caballero has been a member of the U.S. National Climbing Team since 2010.

“I got into climbing mostly because everyone in my family was already climbing, even before I was born,” Caballero told Outsideonline in an interview. “I guess you could say I was born in the gym.”

The second youngest person to climb V14 was Adam Ondra who was 15-years-old.
