first 5.15b (9b). The route is a link up of Noia (8c+/5.14c) into Anaconda (8c/5.14b). Ghisolfi, 22, came close to sending on multiple
sessions, but the elusive FA had to wait for the right conditions.
“Finally after long time and a lot of tries, I sent the hardest project I ever tried,” Ghisolfi posted on Instagram. “I spent many days on it, falling many times at the last section.”
Ghisolfi returned to Andonno yesterday afternoon and found “perfect conditions.” After warming up, he sent the project on his second go of the day. Ghisolfi
named the route Lapsus and suggested a grade of 9b (5.15b).
“I propose a new grade for me and for Italy,” Ghisolfi wrote. “I think this is much harder than Biographie [5.15a] and DemenciaSenil [5.15a].”
Ghisolfi climbed Biographie/Realization and Demencia Senil, both Chris Sharma routes, this summer. “I’d like someone [to] come to
try it soon to confirm the grade, maybe Italian history has been made!!”
Ghisolfi is now the eighth person in the world to have climbed 9b/5.15b, according to 8a.nu.
