The Mount Washington Valley Ice Fest, the biggest, baddest climbing event on the east coast, celebrates its 20th birthday this year from February 1st-3rd, in North Conway, New Hampshire. The event has grown a lot in the past 20 years, and rings in 2013 with guest speakers and guides from around the globe, in addition to amazing clinics and demo gear from brands such as Outdoor Research, Sterling Rope, La Sportiva, Lowa, Patagonia, Mammut, Julbo and more!

Friday’s events, sponsored by the American Alpine Club, include talks from hometown hero Freddie Wilkinson and alpine wunderkind Renan Ozturk, who will relive Alaska’s incredible Tooth Traverse. Next, witty Brit and alpine hardman Nick Bullock will present on mixed climbing from across the pond and his impressive achievements in the Himalayas.

Saturday night the lineup continues, with a short film by Peter Doucette and Silas Rossi and then Josh Wharton and Kyle Dempster will be presenting their amazing sends in the Canadian Rockies and Pakistan, respectively.

As always, climbers of all abilities will be paired with an unparalleled roster of guides, including Janet and Freddie Wilkinson, local favorites Kevin Mahoney, Bayard Russell and Mark Synott, Chamoniards Adam and Caroline George, hardwomen Majka Burhardt and Emilie Drinkwater, and the guides of the International Mountain Climbing School. Clinics cover all levels of skills, from beginner’s ice climbing to difficult mixed.
