THE JETBOIL STOVE is as light as a newt, a Scrooge with gas, and a nuclear blowtorch for boiling. Problem was, if you really wanted to take it climbing, you had to jury rig a hanging suspension from chain and S-hooks.
Finally, the smart folks at Jetboil have cooked up a hanging kit, a clever 1.6-ounce tripod of aluminum rod and cable that takes about 30 seconds to fit around the stove’s plastic burner housing. The kit transforms the Jetboil from a camping stove to a climbing stove, one you can take on a wall or just hang off the ground when it’s uneven or snowy.
The kit costs $30, which seems like a lot considering you just paid $90 for the stove, but the combo makes a great technical climbing rig, one that’s been much needed.
