La Sportiva Miura VS
Though the Miura VS is most definitely "high performance," it actually is an all-around tool that would improve every climber's performance, no matter what discipline they are into.
Some shoes get bad raps for being “high performance,” and by that, I mean that climbers think that they need to climb a certain elite grade before they get to wear a “high-performance” shoe.
Though the Miura VS is most definitely “high performance,” it actually is an all-around tool that would improve every climber’s performance, no matter what discipline they are into. Really, this slipper just works well in all climbing applications. Who wouldn’t want that?
One of my favorite features of this asymmetric shoe remains the three Velcro straps that attach in opposite directions, wrapping the shoe to the shape of your foot.
After a full year of hard toeing, twisting and torquing, the Miura VS has suffered no dip in its performance—amazing unto itself—and it still excels on dime-edges, heel hooks (maybe the best?), and finger cracks. The shoe has stretched a bit, but not that much (not nearly as much as its older sister, the lace-up Miura tends to). This is due to Sportiva’s patented P3 platform that retains the shoe’s shape, and hence performance, over a long lifetime.
* An “all around” shoe that is “high performance.”
* Vibram XS Grip is durable and super sticky.
* Sizes 33—46.
Recommended for: If the shoe fits, wear it for everything.
