It’s nice to see a lace-up that’s not as stiff as Donald Trump. The sensitive, sporty Vision was one of the best steep-rock shoes we tested. Ratchet the laces and you’ll find that the thin midsole has enough support for all but the thinnest face climbs. The disadvantage of laces is that the shoe doesn’t toe-scum as well as some of the models with rubberized uppers reviewed here. The innovative tongue, fully attached at one side to the upper, provides a comfortable, centered fit. This shoe will stretch, although the Lorica flashing curtails stretch more than on some unlined leather shoes. The glossy white Lorica will turn heads, too. The Vision wins our award for sexiest shoe.
+ High-performance steep-rock shoe.
– Expensive.
