ENTRE PRISES PETITE ($70)

Epusa.com

BETA Paradoxically, the Petite is a behemoth. Measuring 15 by 26 inches, it’s the second-largest board, packing 15 holds, the most of any model. Mostly a palette of edges and slopers, the Petite boasts grips that are well crafted, comfortable and, save two, usable. Flat and sloping edges, the mainstay of any regimen, range from half-pad to two digits, so it’s all here. The Petite’s smooth texture is, according to one tester, a fine-grained grit, like skin-friendly Southern sandstone. Problem is, the smooth surface makes the slopers highly technical — most testers could not hang the smallest sloper (prop your feet on a chair to take weight off your fingers). In fact, they couldn’t stick the full-hand sloper, either. The board’s tallness and series of horizontal rails suit it well for mini-campusing. All in all, the Petite was the crowd pleaser.

BEEFS Baby-butt surface must be kept surgically clean. Full-hand sloper is V8 and the quarter-pad sloper is V9. Is too tall for some doorways.

BEST FOR Variety of training, especially power. Holds tend to be on the difficult side — not ideal for punymen.

IF ONLY IT HAD A pinch grip.
