HRT THE MASK ($72)

larry@inclimb.com

BETA This mondo board measures 18 by 33 inches. With 15 good holds, it ranks alongside the EP Petite as among the most useful designs. A series of six edges vary from crimp to pad and a half, and — unique to this board — curve various ways so you can reef on them in opposing gastons, staight down or in opposition. Likewise, a set of pinch grips net three hand positions depending on where you rest your thumbs, and are so usable they share the Best Pinch-Grip award with the Stone Age Manta. Texture is fine yet sticky, like quality Dakota sandstone.

BEEFS: Too tall for some doorways.

BEST FOR: Everything except sloper burns.

IF ONLY IT HAD: A sloper.
