Welcome to Perfecto Mundo---an extreme 30-meter Catalonian route that defines the limits of sport climbing. It’s a brutal and unforgiving line that, in parts, allows the use of nothing more than a single middle finger. On December 7, 2018, The North Face’s Stefano Ghisolfi earned sent Perfecto Mundo after a solid 32 days at the crag, a year of training, trial, error… and a lot of intense preparation for his all-important middle finger.
The Italian climber is just the fourth person to send a route of that grade.
Rock and Ice talks to Alex Megos, Chris Sharma and Stefano Ghisolfi about the world's newest 5.15c, climbed by Megos on May 9, 2018. Perfecto Mundo was a long-dormant project of Sharma's.
It's the 24-year-old Italian's fourth climb circa 5.15b.
