In the year since Ethan Pringle established Everything is Karate, a 5.14c/d in Bishop, California, his route has seen quite a bit of action. Chris Sharma made the second ascent last fall, then earlier this spring Ben Hanna snagged the third ascent (the video of which is right here), and just last week Carlo Traversi bagged the fourth. Looks like this climb is becoming a new classic.
In the video, Hanna says, “I saw a picture of Ethan Pringle on it on Instagram—like months, month back before he did it—and I was like, ‘I wanna do that route!’ In the picture it looked like it was an alpine route, and it looked so good, I was like, ‘I’m gonna climb a mountain to go do that route, I don’t even care!’ Turns out the hike is really nice.”
