Drew Ruana, 16, made the first ascent of The Assassin at Smith Rock, Oregon on February 13. The route links up the cruxes of
Repeat Offender (5.14b), Villain (5.14a) and White Wedding (5.14a). Ruana proposed a grade of 5.14d for previously
unclimbed linkup, which, if the grade sticks, would make it the hardest route at Smith.
