O’Rourke has had a love-hate relationship with climbing over the past decade and a half: “I’ve been climbing for about 15 years now. I stopped all other sports and mainly focused on climbing. I kind of came to a point where I was expecte to do certain things, and if I didn’t meet these standards I felt like I wasn’t really good enough to hold this job.”

But after taking some time away and finding greater balance in his life, he rediscovered his love for climbing by just letting go off that self-imposed pressure.
