Thomas Achee sent in this whipper he took on Fear of Flying (5.10), out at Enchanted Rock, Texas.

“I took a good 40 foot fall on Enchanted Rock’s Fear of Flying with the rope catching my foot and flipping me over,” he told us in an email. (We bumped it down to 30 feet because, come on, that sure don’t look like 40 feet.)

Thomas went on, “Wasn’t hurt or anything, but definitely woke me up.”

Glad you’re okay, Thomas. But next time do us a favor and make sure to wear a brain bucket—getting lucky isn’t a substitute for being smart about safety.

Happy Friday and climb safe this weekend!
