Special Weekend Whipper served up from our friends over at REEL ROCK, starring Will Stanhope
and Matt Segal!

Whipper cut from “Boys in the Bugs,” a film showing in this year’s REEL ROCK 11 film tour.
This is just a small sample of the frustrations Stanhope and Segal experienced during their epic four-year battle to free the Tom Egan Memorial Route (V 5.14) on the east face of Snowpatch Spire, Bugaboos, British Columbia.

They eventually made the first free ascnet of the 13-pitch route, with a 5.14 finger-crack crux, in a single, four-day push, from August 11 to 14, 2015.
Read more about their ascent here.

Happy Friday and get after it this weekend!
