Weekend Whipper: Splash Landing – Groundfall at Great Falls National Park
This aid climber is roughly 21 feet off the deck in Great Falls National Park, Virginia. While above two body-weight placements, he steps into his etrier
and loads his last piece of pro. Unfortunately, the piece pops, and he zippers down the rock and crashes violently into the mud-puddled ledge. Luckily,
the climber escapes an extremely close call with minor injuries, in part due to his helmet.
