Alex Cole was climbing at Robinson Park, Sandstone, Minnesota, when this happened.

“I was trying to adjust my weight while reaching for my next screw when my tool popped,” Alex told Rock and Ice. “The screw held thank god or it woulda been broken ankles. Shortly after a guy came up to me and said for every person he’d seen fall on a screw that held, he’d seen three people blowout and deck.”

Clearly falling on ice screws is something to be avoided…

Happy Friday and climb safe this weekend!
